29th Mawdesley Millennium Green proudly present:"Long Drive to Lhasa" A talk by Peter Cordall at Mawdesley Village Hall Peter recently travelled to Tibet to discover and photograph rare alpine plants. His talk will also cover aspects of the journey, the landscape he travelled through and the people he met along the way. As well as two commited politicians talking about Climate Change, we have two interesting presentations on energy saving and alternative energy equipment and the grants available to install them, together with two short talks on Environmental Farming and Community Food Growing. 07.15 pm Village Hall. 4th BIRDS OF PREY FLY INTO MAWDESLEY The Mawdesley Equine and People Trust, affectionately known as Jigsaw, is hosting a very special event at Easter which is open to the public. Jim Brown, Head falconer from ‘The Hawk Garden’ at Leighton Hall near Carnforth will be bringing a selection of his birds of prey for both static and flying displays. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt for the children, and a very special Easter Bonnet Parade from Jigsaw’s equine residents. Please come along and support this very special charity. Millennium Green Open Gardens Mawdesley's flourishing gardens are open again! 12.30 pm to 5.30pm. Pay £3 per person at any garden. Accompanied children admitted free. In aid of the Millennium Green Trust.

9th Children's disco to be held in the marquee on the cricket ground. Tickets £3. Please note: For every child that attends, a nominated adult must remain at the marquee for the duration of the event.
10th Annual Walking day Procession, Tea party and Barbeque. Walking day begins at 1.00pm with a service in the church. It is to be an ecumenical walk of witness so all are cordially invited. The Barbeque starts at 07.30 to 8.30pm. Then party till midnight in the marquee on the cricket ground. Tickets are £15 available from LONDIS in Mawdesley.

Music on the Green 5pm to 7pm: Wirroleans Jazz Band. 7.30pm to 10pm Trouble at' Mill Folk.
Tickets £7.50 from Mawdesley Londis store or pay at the gate. Bring your own food, drink, chairs or gazebos if you wish. Gates open 3pm.

15th  ‘Jigsaw’, Mawdesley Equine and People Trust Charity Fun Dog Day to be held at , Backhouse Stables, off Hall Lane, Mawdesley, nr Ormskirk, Lancashire L40 2QY. Registration is at 1.30pm, and the fun starts at 2.00pm. £5 per dog entry fee into all classes, which includes: Agility; Best Trick; Prettiest Bitch; Best Fancy Dress; Handsome Dog; Child Handler; Judges Choice. There is also a raffle, and refreshments will be available all day. All proceeds will go towards helping to fund the running costs of the charity. Download the flyer here
